How to make an aerial Christmas tree - tips and instructions. Volumetric hanging Christmas tree made of balls Ready-made floating Christmas tree made of balls

You can not only decorate a finished Christmas tree, but also create it yourself! For example, this is what the author of this wonderful book did. The New Year is approaching, it's time to think about the home interior. Such a floating Christmas tree made of balls will be a great addition, it looks unusual and brings a touch of festive magic to the atmosphere!

We will need:
- about a hundred balls;
- fishing line 0.4 mm (the author took two packages of one hundred meters each);
- steel wire (it’s better not to use aluminum wire, it’s too soft);
- scissors, nippers.

Remember that the base of such a Christmas tree must be strong, comfortable and light, otherwise the decoration will not turn out so airy and fabulous in appearance.

Step 1

So, attach the base with wire to the ceiling. It is worth noting that the dumpling maker serves as the base here.

Step 2

Now it's time to create the levels of the future Christmas tree. Pass the fishing line through the holes in the base, attach balls to its two ends - matte and shiny (here the balls are red, but you can take any others). Now you have two levels created right away. By the way, it’s better to cut the template line to the required length, and then measure the lines according to the finished template, so that you don’t have to redo the levels later. Of course, it will be difficult for one person to cope with this work; two people must participate in the process: one passes the fishing line through the base and makes sure that it does not get tangled, and the second ties the balls, feeds the fishing line, and so on. And, of course, it’s better to take unbreakable balls, after all, no one is safe from them falling.

Step 3

Tie the fishing line on the ball into two or three knots so that it does not unravel. Just in case, don’t cut off the tail; it’s better to stick it into the ball - it won’t be particularly visible anyway.

Step 4

So, are the first two levels ready? Then pass the wire through the ears of the balls, then your levels will turn out to be round, just like the craftswoman who created this miracle.

Step 5

The balls are adjustable in different directions (you raise one level, the second lowers), this is due to the fact that both a shiny ball and a matte ball were strung on one fishing line. This is convenient, since the balls can be placed in any way that suits you best. In general, it turns out to be a kind of mobile Christmas tree. But it should narrow towards the top, therefore, reduce the number of balls with each level. As soon as you make paired levels, be sure to tie the fishing line, after all, it gets very tangled!

Step 6

Now tie on two more levels. They seem to hang down in a cluster, then thread the wire through the balls. Only the fishing line should not overlap other levels of the Christmas tree! That’s why two people should participate in the creation of this Christmas tree, otherwise it’s very easy to get confused, you won’t have enough patience.

Step 7

Next, create as many levels of the Christmas tree as you have enough balls in stock, and patience. The author created the last levels in the style of “author’s mess”, because he wanted to diversify his Christmas tree - he did it perfectly!

Step 8

Of course, the top deserves to be decorated with the most beautiful ball. You can decorate it individually. Or you can attach a beautiful star on top, this is also a matter of taste.

Ready-made floating Christmas tree made of balls

In general, you can modify your Christmas tree every day, arranging the levels in a new way: either by tilting it, or simply leaving it straight, or by setting it up in a “mess.” And how beautifully it sways in the light breeze! You just want to admire these iridescent balls for hours! Next to such a Christmas tree you will definitely celebrate the upcoming New Year, which is just around the corner. We wish you to celebrate such a bright holiday with the people closest to you. And may the New Year please you with no less interesting things!

With the onset of the New Year holidays, each of us thinks about the Christmas tree. You can buy a green beauty and bring it into your home and dress it up. Or you can do it yourself. In the latter case, there are many options for a flight of fancy: the tree can be paper, wire, made of rain or sewn from fabric. We offer you another very unusual version of the New Year tree - this is a floating tree made of balls. It’s not that difficult to make, but it will amaze the guests and be remembered for a long time. After the holiday, it can be easily disassembled and stored until next year.

Let's see what we need to make such an original New Year's miracle. Required materials and tools:
round grate (an old grill grate will do);

New Year's Christmas balls;

Reliable wire;

Pliers and wire cutters;

About 2 chains;

Fasteners and clamps.

Photo 1 – Necessary material and tools

When everything you need has been found, you can get to work. We start with the base; to do this, we securely fasten the wire in several places on the lattice so that small loops are formed. It is imperative to ensure that the wire fastenings are symmetrical, otherwise the grille will tilt. We divide the chain into 4 equal parts and attach it to the wire using carabiners. We fasten the free ends of the chains together at one point and also attach them to the carabiner.

Photo 2 – Base for a hanging Christmas tree

Now that our base is ready, we cut the fishing line for hanging the balls into pieces. It is better to make several types of blanks from fishing line of different lengths. We make loops at the ends of the fishing line that can be securely fastened with clamps. Then we hang the balls on a fishing line on the grill using hooks. If you don't have any hooks, you can use unfolded paper clips.

Photo 3 – This is what the intermediate option should look like

In order for the composition of balloons to turn out beautiful and harmonious, do not hang the balloons randomly. Experiment and choose a pattern according to which you want to hang the balls.

Photo 4 – This tree looks good from all sides. Even from below

That's all, our original hanging Christmas tree is ready. For it, you can use either identical balls of the same color or Christmas tree decorations that are completely different in color and shape. If you want to use different Christmas tree decorations, then it is advisable that there are only 2-3 different types. Such an interesting composition can not only replace a natural winter guest, but also become an addition to it. In addition, this is a suitable option not only for an apartment or house, but even for an office or other work space.

Photo 5 – Your beauty will delight you no less than a real Christmas tree

Today we will make an amazing Christmas tree: it floats in the air and looks extremely stylish and unusual.

This is a great option for decorating an office or apartment in a high-tech style.

Such a Christmas tree will fit into an ordinary home, giving the interior a modern and, at the same time, fairy-tale look.

You will need:

1. Round grid stand with a diameter of 42.5 cm (you can buy it at a restaurant equipment and supplies store).

2. Light chain, designed for hanging lamps and other decorative purposes - 152.4 cm.

3. Small carabiner.

4. 100 hooks.

5. 1 skein of monofilament thread for jewelry (not stretchy) - 15 m.

6. 200 jewelry crimp beads.

7. Crimper for crimping.

8. 100 straps with hooks.

9. 100 Christmas balls.

10. Needle nose pliers.

Progress:

1. Prepare the base: take a grid stand.

Turn it over and remove the legs.

Now, using needle-nose pliers, we attach the chains to the protrusions from the legs.

We connect the chains and hang them from the carabiner.

2. Now let’s calculate the length of the threads for hanging the balls.

In the master class, balls with a diameter of 5 cm and 7.5 cm were used. The distance between such balls should be about 3.75 cm.

To accurately calculate the number of long, medium and short threads, you can use the following diagram:

Number of decorations/balls (in circles): 1, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27

The length of the thread in the center is 13.75 cm.

Circle 1: 18.1 cm, one - 22.5, two - 26.88 cm, three - 31.25;

Circle 2: two - 35.6 cm, two - 40 cm, three - 44.38 cm, four - 48.75 cm;

Circle 3: three - 53.1 cm, three - 57.5 cm, four 61.88 cm, five - 66.25 cm;

Circle 4: four - 70.63 cm, four - 75 cm, five - 79.38 cm, six - 83.75 cm;

Circle 5: five - 88.13 cm, five - 92.5 cm, six - 96.88 cm, seven - 101.25 cm;

Circle 6: six - 105.63 cm, six - 110 cm, seven - 114.38 cm, eight - 118.75 cm.

The design should resemble a tall, narrow wedding cake (multi-tiered).

3. Place the hooks at the required distance from each other.

4. Now we cut pieces of monofilament to the required length, make loops and secure them with crimp beads.

Note: Keep pieces of monofilament separate from each other to prevent them from getting tangled. Finished sections with fastenings can be hung on a cornice by attaching a ball to the lower end of the section.

5. Hang the balls (starting from the central ones).

There you go!

By the way, you can use not only green balls, but also transparent ones.

Or any other Christmas tree decorations. This tree looks original and beautiful!

And it’s easy to disassemble and hide until next New Year. It will not take up much space, and next year you can easily assemble it again.

Translation by Inna Ivanova especially for “With Your Own Hands”

Perhaps this is the most “feminine” of the master classes dedicated to making a New Year tree. You don't need any construction tools at all - just a set that is in the arsenal of any self-respecting seamstress. A solution for owners of small apartments and adherents of minimalism: I propose to make an unusual aerial Christmas tree decoration yourself.

So, in this material you will learn how to make a Christmas tree out of balls with your own hands.

Materials and tools
Hoop with clamp.
Textile.
Compass.
Fishing line.
Soft meter or tape measure.
Needle and beads.
Christmas balls.

Step 1. Decide on sizes
First, you have to figure out the size and required number of Christmas tree balls. To do this, simply lay them out on the floor or table.
I initially decided that I wanted a tree 120 cm high (not counting 20 cm to the base) and with a space of 20 cm between each row. At the same time, in order to get a fairly elegant shape, I took a hoop of not very large circumference (30 cm), which became the maximum diameter.
Next, I settled on six circles, and on each of them the number of balls increased by two. In the end, I needed 49 balls, including the central one: the result was a tree of medium height and not very dense - definitely, it’s worth experimenting and deciding which sizes are best suited in your room.

Step 2: Prepare the base
As a base to which the airy tree is attached, I used fabric stretched tightly between hoops - this method is the most visual and economical. You can, however, find other options - a metal barbecue grate, a flat sieve without a handle, or something else of a suitable size.
If you follow my path, try to find the most elegant and, moreover, dense fabric.
After pulling it as tight as possible, find the center of the circle and mark the planned number of circles using a compass. Keep in mind that when the base is hung, the marks should face the ceiling and therefore be on the back of the stretched fabric.

Step 3. Determine the design of the future Christmas tree
Several options are possible.
Christmas tree “levels”. In this case, each new row of balls is hung exactly, at a certain distance from the previous one.
Christmas tree in a spiral. Here, inside each row there is an indentation between the balls, and they are hung sequentially in a circle.
Christmas tree classic- as similar in shape as possible to the real one, where the balls are at different heights.

I hung the balls on loops, cutting twice as much fishing line and folding it in half, due to which for each hanging ball I had only one knot - on top in the base, which made the tree neater (there is no fishing line sticking out anywhere), and the work was easier ( knitting extra knots from almost transparent dense thread is an activity only for the most patient).

To speed up the process of measuring fishing line, you can assemble a simple device from an office clamp attached to the surface and a soft meter.

After attaching the ball to the fishing line, thread its second tip through the needle and pass it through the base fabric. Now put a bead on it and tie a knot.
Firstly, a thin knot made from fishing line alone can easily fall out of fabric that is not thick enough, such as linen, as in my case.
Secondly, it will be much easier to make changes to an already assembled tree. Surely, when you finish, you will want to tighten or change something. With beads, you don’t have to search for the right ball blindly.

Advice: It is best to immediately assemble the tree in the place where it will hang, and not carry it ready, so that the fishing lines do not get tangled (and they do this quickly and mercilessly). So this version of the Christmas tree is not suitable for rooms with curious animals or children; it cannot be mounted near the balcony door. If possible, pin the base in place once you have stretched the fabric over the hoop (step 2).

You will need: a round mesh (this can be a grill mesh, a steamer, a fan mesh, etc.) in this case it is a grill mesh, diameter 45 cm; chain, 150 cm; small carabiner; 100 hooks (for attaching threads to the structure); 100 hooks (the picture shows hooks). By the way, paper clips are quite suitable for hooks; 1 spool (15m) of jewelry cable, you can use fishing line; 200 stoppers (for making loops on a cable); pliers; 100 balls (or any other products) to create a hanging structure. So we have a grill grate. We remove the legs, since they are easy to remove, leaving one lattice circle. Now we cut chains (or you can use cords) of the same size and attach them with hooks to our lattice. And from above we connect the chains using a carabiner. We cut the wire (or fishing line) and make loops on each side (we will attach one side to the structure, our ball will hang on the other). We mark our design into circles (In this case, 6 circles) Since our balls are 6-9 cm in diameter, we make the distance between the circles 4.5 cm. We cut, fasten, sequentially, starting from the center and inner circles, ending with the outer circle according to scheme. We hang the structure from the ceiling and enjoy.
